Learning how to be a morning
person is never easy and you won’t become one overnight, but there are a few
tricks and tips on how to become a morning person you may want to try. Numerous
studies show that people who get up early in the morning every day are more
successful and more productive. Frankly speaking, I’m not a morning person by
nature, however, I must become one by necessity. Read on to learn some tips on
how to become a morning person.
1. Light room
Since a dark morning makes it
much more difficult to get up early in the morning, you should make sure your
room is light. Consider placing your bed in front of a large window, or try
sleeping with your curtains open. It’s not easy to become a morning person, but
if you keep your room dark, it makes the process even more difficult.
2. Go to bed early
If you’re going to bed late and
getting up early, it’s no wonder you are feeling tired and sleepy in the
morning. When you wake up tired, your day is not as productive as you want it
to be. So try to go to bed earlier and you’ll see how you feel full of energy
the next day. If you have difficulty sleeping, reading a book in bed can help
you to fall asleep faster.
3. Work out
I know, I know, exercise is the
last thing you want to do in the morning, but it can actually make you feel
more alert and energized. Once you realize how great you feel after 15 minutes
of yoga or a morning jog, you will start your morning with exercise every day.
Exercise can also boost your mood and help keep your weight under control.
4. Don’t skip breakfast
The most important meal of the
day, breakfast, is something you should never skip. Never swap your breakfast
for a black coffee and a chocolate bar. Your breakfast must be healthy and it
must consist of whole grains, protein, and colorful fruit and vegetables. You
can try a bowl of hot porridge or Greek yogurt with your favorite berries and
fruits. You might not see this as the way to become a morning person, since it
doesn’t involve coffee, but a healthy breakfast is a must when it comes to a
healthy lifestyle.
5. Wash your hair in the evening
If you always don’t have time
for exercise in the morning, here is one tip on how to find this time. Wash
your hair in the evening and straighten it, if you have curly hair. This way,
you will have more time for your breakfast and exercise in the morning. Also,
never sleep with your makeup on, and do your nails in the evening. Not only do
you become a morning person, you can save you a lot of stress as well.
6. Treat yourself
If you got up before your alarm
or you didn’t snooze today, reward yourself. Read a newspaper, or watch a
little TV while you’re getting ready or while you’re having your breakfast. You
will see how it’s great to be a morning person.
7. Dim the lights
When the evening draws in, turn
the lights down and turn the radio and TV down several notches. This will help
you to go to bed earlier and fall asleep faster. And if you go to bed earlier,
you will wake up earlier in the morning feeling fully energized and completely
alert.
As you see, morning is actually
not your enemy and it’s possible to become a morning person. Even on Mondays
